Learning expectations (also known as learning objectives) are succinct descriptions of what teachers expect their students to learn, spiritually, emotionally and academically. Each expectation is measurable so that teachers can tell whether students have met their goal. Learning expectations typically include action verbs, such as describe, express, participate, connect and work.
